Rowan Tree Theatre Company: The Lasses O
Tickets £10 / £8 under 16s.  Optional Supper £14

Janet Paisley’s play gives us the stories of five women and the poet’s life. But these are definitely not the usual suspects – instead, they range from the midwife who delivered him on a stormy January night, to the young neighbour who nursed him on his deathbed. In a theatrical tour de force, the award-winning Scots actress Gerda Stevenson, plays all five women. The stories are interwoven with music and song from a trio of versatile musicians, including two members of the up and coming band Shee, Rachel Newton and Lillias Kinsman Blake and cellist/percussionist Seylan Baxter

The production is designed by Jessica Brettle and directed by one of Scotland’s finest directors, Gerry Mulgrew.
