Written in the Celtic tradition, this romantic comedy draws us into the lives of ancient Britons and Romans and the legends surrounding them, with visionary dreams and voices from heaven adding to an exciting story whose happy outcome brings joyous surprises. This rarely performed play is a rich gem of Shakespeare’s late career and will be played simply in period costume with specially written music.
Please note that though this company is renowned for its outdoor shows, this year we are taking our Shakespearean performance inside – twice soaked three times shy! If it is beautiful weather on the day we will move outside so check with us beforehand.
As for the traditional picnic – bring it along to consume in the interval whether we are inside or outside. We are not providing suppers after the show but we are very happy to make an interval picnic for you – please phone us for details.
