Visitor Centre

Wildllife display

The visitor centre is situated in the courtyard.  Feel free to come inside for information on all our trails together with our ranger events that run throughout the year.  You will also find fascinating and interesting facts about the flora and fauna that can be found on your visit at Bowhill.

There is something for all the family from a PowerPoint presentation on how Bowhill is managed as a working estate to a badger den for the children to hide in!  The centre is also the place to go for information on our trails that are suitable for children of all ages.

We strive to keep the information up to date on all the flora and fauna present here, along with informing you of the conservation work we are doing to safeguard our rare species such as the Red Squirrel.

The visitor centre is also widely used by schools on their visit to Bowhill, for more information on what you can do on a school trip, go to our Education page.

Over the next few months there is going to be some changes to our visitor centre.  A viewing platform with binoculars is to be built in the corner by the window to allow the general public to observe all the different variety of birds that feed in our sunken garden.

Within the visitor centre there is currently a camera observing the birds feeding at a platform and the rangers are in the process of installing another camera which we hope will be up and running by next year’s breeding season so you can observe our feathered friends raising their own family.
