| Ranger Service A dedicated and experienced Countryside Ranger Service operates on the Bowhill Estate with the responsibility of enhancing visitor enjoyment of the countryside alongside education and conservation.
|

| ConservationRangers monitor and survey a whole range of wildlife, such as red squirrels, bats, birds and plants. This allows us to take practical action if there is a threat to the survival of a particular species. Installing and monitoring bird and bat boxes, and managing public access are a few of the practical solutions we employ. |

| EducationRangers work with schools to encourage a greater understanding of a working country estate, conservation and wildlife. Schools can take part in a wide range of activities which make learning about the countryside an enjoyable experience. |

| RecreationRangers provide formal and informal recreation facilities throughout the Estate. This includes providing information boards and picnic benches at key sites as well as a range of waymarked walks, mountain bike trails and horse trails. Something for everyone. And of course, the Adventure Playground is not to be missed by big kids and little alike! |

| EventsThroughout the year, the Rangers organise guided walks and talks for the public to come and discover the wonders of nature for themselves. Furthermore, we host many outdoor events, for a wide range of organisations including mountain bike races, orienteering and car rallies which are all regular activities. Check our news or events pages or contact us for details. |

| VolunteersThe Rangers' work is never done, and even during periods when the park is quiet there is plenty going on. If you would like to lend a hand on a variety of conservation, access or wildlife focussed projects then please contact one of the Rangers. |

Between 1831 and 1832 it was decided to move the main entrance to Bowhill from the south side to the north side. This alteration meant moving the staircase from the central axis of the house to the west, enlarging the Gallery Hall and extending the drawing room to take in the entrance hall and porch of the replaced south entrance |
