Located on the site of the ancient Ettrick Forest, Bowhill Country Park  provides a fantastic opportunity to explore a unique and historic natural landscape.

Four waymarked paths of varying length provide walkers of all abilities an opportunity to discover the beautiful woodlands, rugged rivers, lochs and spectacular high moors that are only a few steps away.

Bowhill Paths and Trails

Countless miles of paths and tracks offer fantastic opportunities for walkingmountain biking and horse riding on the estate.

A Country Park Visitor Centre provides masses of information on trails including our new Tree Trail and the huge diversity of wildlife, including fun activities for children. While our huge adventure playground nearby will challenge and enthrall children of all ages.

The Buccleuch Ranger Service is here year round to lead walks and education events.  Please contact the Ranger Service for more details.
